Chicago mom Delisa Tucker gunned down in exact spot her child was slain earlier. In Chicago, a mother of six was shot and killed in the same area where her 14-year-old son was killed just three days before.
Delisa Tucker, 31, was tragically shot in the chest while visiting a memorial for her son, Kevin Tinker, at their home in the Roseland section of the city on Wednesday morning. She had been lighting candles in memory of her murdered son who had been killed in a shooting on Sunday night.
No one has been apprehended and police have not established whether the two shootings are linked. After responding to a ShotSpotter alarm just before 12.30 a.m. Wednesday, cops say they located Tucker’s corpse lying on the pavement.
She was taken to Roseland Hospital and declared dead there. Authorities said they haven’t discovered anyone who observed the incident on the street. Her son had been hit many times by gunshots three days before and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kevin was standing outside a residence that had been targeted earlier in the day when he was shot. Police haven’t said if they believe Kevin was targeted as well.
According to a GoFundMe page, the teen’s family characterized him as a “calm guy” who wasn’t involved in any gang-related activity. This year alone, there have been at least 26 deadly shootings in the area where the mother and boy were slain.
