Man gets kicked off plane for wearing G-string on his face.
A man from Florida was asked to leave a United Airlines flight Wednesday morning because he was wearing women’s underwear as a face mask. He claims it was TSA-compliant since the underwear covered his nose and mouth.
Adam Jenne feels the regulation mandating passengers to wear masks on planes is ridiculous but it’s still federal law until March, so he decided to break the rule in a ridiculous way. Not quite fortunate for him, the flight crew on United Airlines flight 1750 from Ft. Lauderale to Washington, D.C. did not find it amusing.
In a video shared on social media, a flight attendant was filmed asking Jenne to leave the plane. “You’ll have to get off the plane. We won’t let you travel, ” said a flight attendant. “Why?” Jenne inquired.”You’re not in mask compliance,” said the attendant.
Jenne was wearing a bright red underwear on his face as he walked off the plane. He explained that he was trying to demonstrate why the rule did not make sense to him. “There’s nothing more silly than having to wear a mask until I reach cruising altitude so I can order a double Tito’s and snack on pretzels, and portraying that absurdity by putting women’s underwear on my face seems great,” Jenne said.
Other people began to speak up shortly after Jenne had departed. One of the passengers said “did he just get kicked off for wearing a mask?” That man then decided to leave the plane as well.”Forget it, I’m out of here.” “I’m out of here,” the man declared.
Several people, according to Jenne, got off the plane to show their support for him.
“Thank you to them because they saw something, an injustice, something that didn’t make sense and they did something about it,” he said.
After that, Jenne received an email from United Airlines stating that he is no longer permitted to fly with the airline until his case is evaluated by the Passenger Incident Review Committee. Jenne stated that he still believes he was right. “Where your rights end, mine begin. You have no right to tell me how I should act, “Jenne said.
According to United’s website, masks should have no vents or holes and should completely cover the nose and mouth.
Jenne claims that his underwear mask complied with the rules but he also claims that this isn’t the first time he’s been taken off a plane for doing so. He also said that he was ordered to exit a Delta Airlines aircraft because he was wearing underwear.
In a statement, the communications team for United Airlines said “The customer clearly wasn’t in compliance with the federal mask mandate and we appreciate that our team addressed the issue on the ground prior to takeoff, avoiding any potential disruptions in the air.”
